Visit The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is in downtown Minneapolis. It offers a wonderful place to enjoy art in a beautiful landscape. Since opening in 1988, it has welcomed millions of visitors from the Walker Art Center’s renowned collections of modern and contemporary art in the setting of an urban park. The Garden is a partnership between the Walker and the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board. Which is a national award-winning park system. New York Times stated this is “the finest outdoor space in the country for displaying sculpture”.

Open 365 days a year, from 6am to midnight. Here is the link to download the self-guided tour of the Sculpture Garden https://s3.amazonaws.com/wac-imgix/cms/IMLS-Self-Guided-What-is-Sculpture_Edits.pdf . They recommend you wear a mask and use social distancing and keep 6-8 feet away from each other. There is plenty of parking around the area that is within walking distance of the Sculpture Garden and Walker Art Center. Across the walking bridge from the Sculpture Garden is Loring Park with plenty of restaurants.

Overlooking the Garden is the Walker Art Center. It is the first public art gallery west of the Mississippi. By 1915 it welcomed 100,000 visitors annually with 400 paintings. Now the Walker Art Center ranks among the five most-visited modern/contemporary art museums in the United States
