Visit the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

Let me tell you about it

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is located across from the Walker Arts Center is Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is free, no tickets are required for admission. It is open from 6am to midnight every day.

They do ask you observe physical distancing practices and maintain a minimum of 6 feet from other while visiting the Sculpture Garden.

It opened in 1988 and since then has had millions of visitors. It showcases works from the Walker Art Center’s collection of world class modern and contemporary art in an urban park. The Garden is a partnership between the Walker Arts Center and the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, which is a national award-wining park system.

Visit the website at Walker Art to see all the exhibits and a map of where they are.

My favorite is the “Spoonbridge and Cherry” by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.

You can rent space in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden for Events. To do so visit minneapolisparks.org or call 612-230-6400. Also, good to know for wedding pictures…a professional photographer is welcome with an advance permit from the Park Board.

Right across the footbridge is Loring Park and one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities…the Café’ and Bar Lurcat. So, you can make it an event of appreciating art and then a wonderful meal!

Hope you found this blog on the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to be helpful.
