As a center of business, education, finance, health care and industry, the Twin Cities is considered a competitive market for all aspects of mass media. Published twin cities papers include: the Star Tribune, the Saint Paul Pioneer Press, Finance and Commerce, the Stillwater Gazette (published Monday through Friday) and the Minnesota Daily, City Pages, Downtown Journal, Villager and the student newspaper of the University of Minnesota. In addition, many regional magazines and other weekly newspapers are published in the area, most of which are suburban or neighborhood publications.

KUOM is the University of Minnesota’s student-run, non-commercial station. Genres include independent, ambient, metal, hip-hop, jazz, punk, reggae and more. The station aims to promote local musicians.

WCTS – The Bible Station

WLOL offers programs for Catholic listeners that cover topics such as family, relationships, politics, social concerns and news. You’ll hear programs including Father Simon Says, Go Ask Your Father, The Inner Life and The Drew Mariani Show.
