Hike The Superior Hiking Trail For Something Fun

Hike The Superior Hiking Trail

Let me tell you about it.

The Superior hiking trail is a 300 – plus mile path that follows the rocky ridgeline and shore around Like Superior. It goes from the Wisconsin border to the Canadian border. The trail is built, maintained, and managed by the Superior Hiking Trail Association (SHTA).

The Trail can be accessed from over 50 trailheads. The rugged, challenging footpath is great for day hikes, backpacking and thru-hike trips and trail running. Trail users will enjoy scenic overlooks, waterfalls, boreal forests, and wildlife. You will find 94 free campsites on the trail that are spaced every 5-8 miles. No reservations, fees or permits required – all campsites are free and must be shared.

The Trail is broken down into about 50 smaller day hike sections and visit superiorhiking.org for more information.

The Superior Hiking Trail Association (SHTA) information Center and office is located at 731 7th Ave, Suite 2 in Twin Harbors. Trail maps, the “Guide to the Superior Hiking Trail” book, trail information and merchandise is available. Their telephone number is 218-834-2700.

For more information visit Superior Hiking. While this is a wonderful hike, you also must be prepared and plan effectively to be safe and enjoy the adventure.

Have fun!
