Located 24 miles west of Minneapolis with a 29-minute commute time. It is part of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area that has 3.52 million residents. Mound was formed by the recession of the last glaciation about 10,000 BC. The Treaty of Traverse des Sioux opened the Lake Minnetonka area to white settlement in 1852. Name came from the Indian mounds found there from prehistoric Indians.

To summarize, I have found Mound to be a popular city. Importantly, it has great amenities, many parks and trails, Lake Minnetonka access and schools that are highly rated. In short, I strongly suggest considering Mound if you are planning on moving to the Twin Cities of Minnesota.
